It had to happen eventually. When you survey previous exports from the midlands: an assortment of suspect hair metal bands and one-hit wonder groups from the 80’s / 90’s… It was only ever a matter of time that a group would emerge from heart of England to wipe the slate ceremoniously clean, giving the inhabitants of this central outpost some fresh hope and an escape from their culturally underperforming musical past.

It’s evolution, The unique habitat in which our subjects developed, their native characteristics shaped by external factors (in this case Courtney Pine, Duran Duran, Gwen McCrea, Mel C, BB King, Mike Vernon, Fleetwood Mac, Alan Wakeman, Mange Le Funk, Kurtis Blow to name but a few…) would go towards creating a band so clearly the product of their environment and yet so perfectly adapted to becoming a truly dominant species in the world of funk. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you:
OptikalFunk

Mellow Baku, Amber Harvey, and Rose Rock – Vocals

Mr Trev Rock – Drums

Jez Rackham – Lead Guitar

Gaz Rackham, Emerald Barry - Bass Guitar

Miles Hancock, Daniel Wyllie – Brass

Steve Briten – Keyboards

Steven J – Turntablist

These unique individuals channel their passion, drive, and intelligence to churn the creative fires within, resulting in an indelible impression on all who encounter their sound. Imagine an 80’s disco funk sound with a twist, sensational lyrics, well placed licks, flicks, thumbs n sticks which all comes together to form one driving force.

OptikalFUNK’s musical influences range from all things funky and With 100% confidence we can ensure that there is no other concept that will come anywhere close to the live experience that OptikalFUNK provide.

Hi all,

I am a Marketing Masters student at Birmingham University, and am studying the various functions social networking sites (such as this one) have that can assist bands and artists in self-promotion.

I need 100 responses to a survey to which you can find the link below.

www.surveymonkey.com/s/2XBXBK9

I would be massively grateful, if you are a band or artist who use social networking to promote yourselves, if you would take 5 minutes to complete the survey.

Any questions drop me a thread!

Many thanks

Rob
